Human Resources For Health

Human resources is an extremely crucial, yet neglected and scarce component within the health sector. Training and capacity building form an integral part of developing and strengthening human resources. The Sir Ratan Tata Trust & Navajbai Ratan Tata Trust’s Human Resources for Health Programme focuses on improving the capacities and skills of organisations and individuals working in the field of public and community health.

Under the programme, the Trusts support fellowships in the key areas of community health, eye care, kidney care and organ donation. The fellowships have been established at renowned institutions such as Multi Organ Harvesting Aid Network Foundation, Chennai; Society for Community Health Awareness, Research and Action and Community Health Cell, Bengaluru; Sankara Academy of Vision, Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Medical Trust, Coimbatore; and The Children’s Kidney Care Centre, St John’s Medical College Hospital, Bengaluru. The fellowships target skill development of medical and non-medical personnel, with a focus on those working in the non-profit and government sectors.
